Question about housing UMD..?

i was accepted to umd college park as a transfer student in the fall. in the fall i would be entering as a junior more or less, but it would be my first semester in the college, my question is i requested a spot in a residence hall but i herd for juniors its pretty hard to get a spot, so should i be searching for a roommate, or apartment, or wait to see if i get an answer.
